Description:
The objective of this course is to acquaint students practically with various types of antennas and the measurement of their characteristics.
Syllabus:
- Review of main antenna parameters
- Analysis of wire antennas and radiation pattern measurement (dipole and Yagi-Yuda)
- Antenna impedance measurement (using broadband antennas, logarithmic, Vivaldi, and spiral)
- Some aperture antenna measurements (horn and microstrip)
- Antenna arrays (linear array of slotted waveguide)
- Antenna gain measurement by using a standard antenna and three unknown antenna
- Application of Fris's formula for antenna gain measurement
- Antenna polarization measurement by helical antenna and polarizer plate
- Radar cross-section of some simple objects
- Interference and diffraction of microwaves
- Laboratory Manual
