Description
The objective of this course is to acquaint students practically with various types of antennas and the measurement of their characteristics.

Syllabus:
  • Review of main antenna parameters
  • Analysis of wire antennas and radiation pattern measurement (dipole and Yagi-Yuda)
  • Antenna impedance measurement (using broadband antennas, logarithmic, Vivaldi, and spiral)
  • Some aperture antenna measurements (horn and microstrip)
  • Antenna arrays (linear array of slotted waveguide)
  • Antenna gain measurement by using a standard antenna and three unknown antenna
  • Application of Fris's formula for antenna gain measurement
  • Antenna polarization measurement by helical antenna and polarizer plate
  • Radar cross-section of some simple objects
  • Interference and diffraction of microwaves
